Bail granted to arrested FTII students
Five students of the Film and Television Institute of India who were arrested from their campus in Pune, were released on bail on Wednesday. This release was the defense taken by institute director Prashant Pathrabe for midnight swoop, alleging that he was tortured and verbally assaulted by the protesting students.
The arrests came after a group of striking students confined Pathrabe and other staffers in his office for eight hours, and vandalised office furniture and fittings on Monday. The police registered an FIR against 15 students .
