Ashok Khemka, the Haryana bureaucrat who was transferred numerous times for allegedly cancelling the land deal of Robert Vadra has been promoted by the Haryana government as principal secretary.The bureaucrat had courted controversy when not only did he cancel the land deal between Vadra and DLF, but also ordered the deputy commissioners of Mewat, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Palwal to investigate whether stamp duty was paid.
Khemka was targetted by the then Congress government in the state for tarnishing the image of Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Although the auditor’s report clearly mentioned that the Bhupinder Singh Hooda led-Congress government violated many rules to enable windfall gains for Vadra’s company
